Oh my god this was one of the funniest books I've read in forever! Don't get me wrong because there's some serious parts. A murder mystery, some political maneuvering and of course steamy as all get out romance- but these goddesses, they had me rolling with laughter! Just wow! And also, I'm hooked! I want everyone book in the future of this series because I can't wait to see what this group of goddesses can do!! And of course there's werewolves and dragons- hello- I'm in heaven!!!!
So Peitho is the minor goddess of seduction and persuasion. Yep, sex is second nature to her. Hunter is a royal dragon who's the grumpy antisocial black sheep lol! Needless to say, they are completely different and I seriously thought they were gunna kill each other. It was fantastic! Peitho is a fantastic lead- Apate being her absolutely fantastic side kick- while Hunter is the typical obsessive dragon with a mermaid grump for a best friend. I just want to tell everyone to read this book on those characters alone. Oh my goodness the crew they made. Then you add in the other crazy ladies and it's a riot- literally!! And when supers get together a shifter convention and then start getting murdered, these ladies take it upon themselves to solve the crimes. Note to self- do not piss of the minor goddess of rage hahahaha! And all Hunter wants is to get his treasure- Peitho!
The writing is fantastic! I seriously enjoyed myself. The things they said and did and just all around made me giggle. Until we got down and dirty, it was serious and there's nothing short or missing from this story. I am absolutely thrilled to have read the first book in the series and I want more!!! I also do not think I can ever look at self defense or karaoke the same ever again!! :) 5 MAGICAL PAWS!!! This was perfect for me!

First,
tell me a little about your book ….
My
book is about a crazy group of fun loving goddesses. Peitho, the
Goddess of Persuasion and Seduction, is an Immortal Representative at
a shape shifter convention. She meets Hunter, a dragon shape shifter,
and he’s instantly enamored. He pursues her, she avoids him, and
they connect while investigating murders that take place at the
convention.
Do
you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always
just know?
I
have loved to write ever since I was in Middle School. I think it has
something to do with my love of talking. The difference is, with
writing, there’s no one there to tell me to shut up! My imagination
runs wild.
What
inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
My
first book was about shape shifters! My female lead was able to
change into the shape of any animal, whereas everyone else could
change into only one animal. She was very sassy, self-important, and
faced jealousy due to her amazing skills. I should probably mention
that I wrote this when I was about eleven, so that probably played a
part in my eclectic plot.
Are
experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
The
experiences in my books are not based on events in my life. I
definitely base some of my characters, dialogue, or relationships on
real life. I never use exact conversations, but I take note of funny
comments or weird situations.
How
do you chose when/which characters die in your books?
I
pick characters based on the book and situation. The loss of the
character should evoke drama and interest, without totally losing the
reader by removing a favorite main character. You’ll never see me
pull a McDreamy.
Who
do you look up to as a writer?
I
look up to Kresley Cole and Eloisa James a lot. I love that their
characters are so engaging. Their books are full of weird humor even
in serious situations. When I read one of their books, I feel like
I’m visiting old friends.
If
you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your
book?
Nope.
I wrote this book a few years ago and have read it, changed it, and
fallen in love with it too many times to count. I feel really
comfortable with how it ended up.
Is
there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Sometimes
I get too caught up in my own feelings, and that translates into how
my characters act or feel. I think that’s hard because it doesn’t
always fit the situation or character’s personality. If I think
things are starting to head south, I take a break from writing and go
back to it. I never try to force my writing, because then it won’t
be 100% what I want it to be.
Who designed the
cover? And do you help with them?
Deranged
Doctor Design did my cover art. I gave them information about my book
and they gave me draft of the cover. We worked together to finalize
the design. I liked working with them a lot!
Did
you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
I
learned a lot! First of all, I’m funnier than I think I am. I’m
also much more determined than I ever realized I could be. I can’t
imagine not writing, even if I never published any of my books. I
feel an impulse to write and constantly get ideas. It’s just part
of who I am, and I feel like it makes me a more empathetic person as
a whole.
If
you could be one of your characters, who would you chose?
In
my current mood, I would pick Apate, the Goddess of Deceit. I love
that she looks innocent but is intensely mischievous. She is very
sassy, sneaky, and clever. On my best day, I don’t think I can
rival her for intrigue. Plus, I’ve always wondered what it would be
like to be blonde.

you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thank

C. Johnson lives in Michigan with her supportive husband and amazing
family. She became serious about her passion for writing shortly
after having her daughter. As someone who strongly believes in doing
what makes you happy, she decided to follow her own advice. She loves
writing almost as much as she loves reading. Victoria adores happy
endings, heartfelt characters, and extraordinary situations. She
hopes to bring a little more of that to life every day.
